Rally for the Tenth Amendment in Richmond on January 18th

The new year has only just begun, but already 2010 is shaping up to be pivotal in American history. From Cap and Tax to Health Care, it seems that everywhere we look, the federal government is dreaming up new ways to separate us from our hard earned money.

As the health care fight in Congress drags on, many Americans have been left wondering why their representatives seem not to care what the voters think. The sad truth is that the voters have lost much of their voice in Washington, D.C. The concerns of individuals are being drowned out by the big money of special interest groups.

So, what’s the solution for Virginia?

Even before ObamaCare has a chance to pass on the national level, a statewide coalition has been formed to demand that our Delegates and Senators reject this blatantly unconstitutional mandate from D.C.

State leaders should refuse to enforce laws that violate the Constitution, and the good news is that they are far more susceptible than national politicians to the kinds of pressure campaigns at which grassroots activists excel. We need to show them that we are serious about protecting our health and our freedom.

Already, Delegate Bob Marshall has pre-filed the Virginia Health Care Freedom Act for the 2010 session, and on Monday, January 18th, Tenthers from all over the state will rally at the Capitol in downtown Richmond to show our support for his bill.

The Tenth Amendment to our Constitution left all powers not delegated to Congress in the hands of the states and the people. Thomas Jefferson believed it to be the cornerstone of liberty and our most powerful weapon against creeping federal tyranny.

Please come out next week and join us in demanding that the federal government respect the constitutional limits of its authority, and return all undelegated powers to their rightful owners: We the People.
